Speaking Up for Epilepsy in Tallahassee
That’s what the Epilepsy Foundation of Florida was doing in Tallahassee last week when we had the opportunity to display many of our programs and initiatives at the Capitol Rotunda on January 17th. Our “Capitol Day” meant there was staff from several of our EFOF offices across the state who provided information to legislators, their staff and the public regarding epilepsy, our services and our programs. We were also fortunate to enjoy the attendance and partnership of the Epilepsy Association of Central Florida, the Veterans Affairs Epilepsy Centers of Excellence, and Canine Assistants in bringing epilepsy education and awareness to anyone within earshot. We encourage everyone to keep the dialogue going with our legislators because what you say makes a difference – you can find out who your legislator is and tell her or him about the importance of funding epilepsy programs, just got to the link at http://www.leg.state.fl.us/Welcome/index.cfm?CFID=233555120&CFTOKEN=85761459
