MIAMI –July 22, 2011 –The JPMorgan Chase Foundation today presented a $45,000 check tothe Epilepsy Foundation of Florida for being among the top vote-getters in round one of Chase’s Community Giving Spring 2011 Program.
EFOF was one of 100 organizations nationwide, and the only one from South Florida, to advance to the final round by earning thousands of votes from Facebook friends and supporters.
EFOF is the only epilepsy-related organization in the country to make it to the finals. The organization’s main office is in the Doral area, and it also has locations in Broward, Palm Beach and other facilities around the state.
The $45,000 was granted as part of EFOF’s climb to the top 25 vote-getters.
“Finishing in the money is exciting and will help so much with our missions to serve thousands of friends, family and neighbors with epilepsy,” said Karen Basha Egozi, EFOF chief executive officer. “We hope everyone in Florida appreciates JPMorgan Chase’s program for investing in our communities.”
In addition to prevention and education services, EFOF provides direct medical and neuropsychological care, advocacy and counseling, and other services to thousands of clients.

EFOF is designated a high value charity; 91% of expenditures go directly to program costs. For more information, visit or call 877-553-7453,
