Camp Boggy Creek

 Boggy Creek

Tons of fun in a safe and controlled environment

Children who have chronic conditions such as epilepsy spend a great deal of time and energy coping with strict medical regimens.  Summer Camp provides these children an opportunity to escape from the stress of dealing with their medical conditions, to try new activities, to develop a send of independence and to improve self-esteem.  While at Boggy Creek, campers participate in all the activities of any regular camp – boating and fishing, theater, horseback riding, swimming, archery, and arts and crafts.

 Boggy Creek

Modeled after actor Paul Newman’s Hole In the Wall Gang Camp, the Boggy Creek Gang camp (located on 232 acres in Cassia township, Florida) is a non-profit medical camping center specifically designed and equipped for children ages 7-16 who have chronic or life-threatening illnesses.   The Boggy Creek Gang offers week long summer camp sessions and family retreat weekends for these children and their family members.  The camp’s extensive on-site medical center, and the medical and nursing staff, including Epileptologists, ensure the environment is physically safe and medically sound.

 Boggy Creek

The Epilepsy Foundation of Florida covers the entire cost for the child to attend the camp.  Our support includes camp tuition, transportation to and from camp, and pre- and post-camp activities and reunions for the children and/or parents and siblings.

For further information, contact Jennifer Pina on 305-670-4949, ext. 221
